Jeannie Pope

Jeannie comes to Scotland County Public Schools from a background in marketing and project management, where she most recently worked for Omnicom, a national marketing agency.  Jeannie grew up in Columbus County and graduated from Whiteville High.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MBA from Wake Forest University.  After college she was a middle school science teacher with Teach for America in the underserved Rio Grande Valley of Texas.  She moved to Laurinburg with her family four years ago.  She and her husband have three elementary-school daughters who attend Scotland County Public Schools.  She currently sits on the Scotland County Parks and Recreation Board and is involved with Laurinburg’s downtown development efforts.  Jeannie has a passion for working together with teachers, parents, and her community to bridge the equity gaps recently amplified by the coronavirus pandemic.
