About the Organization

Mission

Our mission is to provide innovative instruction through experiential learning with a focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) in order to prepare elementary and middle school students to compete, lead, and excel in the global marketplace.

Services

At Envision Science Academy we are working to change the culture of our school by increasing our cultural awareness and acceptance. It was an awesome opportunity to learn more about each other. We also have an annual International Festival where students research and learn about the cultures of other countries and present their projects in a fair-style presentation. We have also added in a morning meeting for (K-8) for The Positivity Project to change our school culture to one of awareness and acceptance.

Next, 6,7 and 8th graders have participated in Design for Change Projects where students work to solve problems within our community based on their passions based on the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Some groups are working on solutions to climate change, ocean pollution, race equality, police brutality, gender equality, economic sustainability, poverty, animal preservation and more. They are also collaborating with other schools and community organizations to make changes in our community.

We also implemented a new Social Justice elective for students and professional development for staff and parents as well. We are studying the history of race and its effects on people of color in our society. We are encouraging all staff members to participate in the PD and hope to introduce it to every grade level (K-8) by the next school year.

These steps are just the beginning. We are collaborating with professionals from the community to grow a sustainable, equitable society for all!
