About the Organization

Mission

To provide equity in access to high-quality courses and high-quality teachers regardless of zipcode

Services

NC Virtual provides courses to students in all 100 counties. The majority of students are in grades 9-12 but we have a growing middle school population. For 2018-2019, we had 52,000 student enrollments. Our courses are aligned to the NC Standards and all teachers are Highly Qualified to teach in the areas they are assigned. NC Virtual's course catalog includes every course a student needs to graduate from high school. The courses are free to the public school student but there are associated costs to the school. As a result of NC Virtual, students no longer have to live in the metropolitan areas to have access to a wide range of courses.
