About the Organization

Mission

Academic Outreach addresses the racial & economic disparities of advanced programs by recruiting students of color and underprivileged students into Advanced Placement, AIG, dual-enrollment and honors courses. We seek systemic and cultural change of these programs through teamwork & collaboration.

Services

Training on how to analyze demographics of the enrollment numbers of the AIG program and advanced classes.

Step by step process on creating a school-wide committee focusing on recruitment of student of color and the underprivileged.

Step by step process on recruitment strategies to reach students, parents and the community.

Professional development on how to identify recruits for advanced programs with non traditional methods that are equitable for all students.

Step by step path on building a diverse and successful Advanced Placement program for high schools.
