The Flood Center for Educational Equity and Opportunity was established based on the recommendations and findings of Study Group XVI—Expanding Educational Opportunity, co-chaired by Dr. Flood. This study involved leaders from education, business, government, and academia to analyze educational issues. The Flood Center serves as a hub to identify and connect organizations, networks, and leaders to tackle problems of equity, access, and opportunity in education across North Carolina. The center’s establishment was announced at the Color of Education Summit, presented by the Public School Forum and the Burroughs Welcome Fund.
