2024 Equity in Education Summit hosted by
Western Carolina University’s College of Education and Allied Professions.
This year’s theme is Reclaiming Joy in Our Schools! At this two-day gathering, educators, and
educational scholars from the western region of North Carolina and beyond will share the ways in which
they are reclaiming and cultivating joy through equitable practices. We also aim to build and strengthen
partnerships among our region’s education community members to better meet the needs of ALL our
students, families, and educators.
Each day begins with an inspirational keynote address from nationally recognized scholars, Dr. Gholdy Muhammad and Dr. Annelise Singh.
