About the Organization

Mission

Book Harvest provides an abundance of books and ongoing literacy support to families and their children from birth and serves as a model for communities committed to ensuring that children are lifelong readers and learners.

Services

Book Harvest provides an abundance of books and literacy support to families and their children from birth; we aspire to help every child fall in love with reading. Since 2011, Book Harvest has provided 1.7 million books to children and a wide array of literacy supports to parents.

Initiatives include: Book Babies, a home visiting program providing families with books and literacy support from the moment their baby is born; Book Boxes, outdoor boxes placed in community spaces and regularly filled with children’s books; and Books on Break, sending young students home for the summer with armloads of books.
