About the Organization

Mission

The mission of FIRST North Carolina is to inspire the next generation of engineers, computer scientists and STEM leaders. Our goal is to strengthen the school to STEM career connection by implementing the FIRST progression of programs in every school and school district, PreK through grade 12.

Services

We offer PreK-12 grade robotics programs through school-based or after-school-based providers. We also offer free professional development for teachers and others interested in providing the FIRST programs to their students.

Our work around racial equity centers on providing access to high-quality STEM programs to all students PreK-12 in North Carolina. We partner for grants specific to providing access and equity to students from underserved/underrepresented populations in STEM fields. We provide free Professional Development to teachers and leaders working directly with youth. We provide free training resources for working with youth on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (here).
