At the request of his former high school principal and with his mother’s push, he returned to his hometown to teach. Dudley believed that if he was going to do something, he should excel at it. So, he pursued educational training from various institutions every summer since becoming a teacher. Dr. Flood’s determination to become a teacher soon became a reality, marking a pivotal moment for his career and education in North Carolina.
